*Staatspreis Patent (State Patent Prize) * for Prof. Christian Bartenbach
The Austrian Patent Office, together with the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, awards the Staatspreis Patent (State Patent Prize) every two years. We are particularly pleased that Christian Bartenbach was awarded the Special Prize for Lifetime Achievement at this year's awards ceremony.
Evaluation criteria for the prize are a product's innovative performance in its respective technical field as well as its overall significance for society. Professor Bartenbach was awarded the prize in recognition of his numerous inventions in the field of lighting technology.
The award was presented by the Federal Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology Norbert Hofer and the President of the Austrian Patent Office Mariana Karepova on 8 November 2018 at a festive ceremony at Vienna's Sofiensaal.
